japanese papercuttings

I tend to pick and choose ideas from articles, rather than read them thoroughly. Yesterday I think I read that the Japanese have never distinguished between their traditional crafts and art. I love that. I was researching shibori - dying fabrics. I subscribe to the blog for pingmag.jp, a Japanese design mag in english. They had one of the first haramaki (belly warmers) articles on the internet. I don't read every piece they have, probably because a lot of it is on design award shows or super modern video installation art (at least that's what I tell myself).

Oh right. Papercutting. I used to love doing this. How the hell does she get it so sketchy like?
